The Booky Joint, a Mammoth institution that was shuttered earlier this year, will re-open on July 1 under new management. Erick Sugimura, 35, and his 38-year-old partner, Dave Leonard, said the store will not operate the old video side but will concentrate instead on books.
Mammoth Mountain Ski Area made it official on Friday, announcing the opening of its "Mammoth Mart" at The Village. It is a new commercial tactic by the ski area, which hopes to solve the problem of a large back inventory of products, mostly clothing.
A new retail outlet with big discounts on ski and snowboard apparel will open this summer in the Mountain Center in the Village, according to insiders at Mammoth Mountain Ski Area (MMSA). It will be situated behind the statue of ski area founder Dave McCoy.
Although it's in the brand-new Village, Munchkins is very much Old Mammoth at heart. Proprietor Karen Philbrook moved her popular kids clothing store to the street level when the Village opened, and has been a mainstay there ever since. So go ahead and pay her a visit!
